Civil War Monument Map

In 2017 the removal of a handful of confederate monuments ignited a heated debate in the community. I decided to take a look at just how many civil war monuments existed in Kentucky.

This was a surprisingly difficult task as there was no list at the time. I scraped the pdf’s from the National Park Service registry of monuments then used satellite imagery to track down the exact location of each one.
