Because the path of the eclipse totality ran through Kentucky, I took the initiative to build a locator map complete with details on where the eclipse would be viewable and when.

This site quickly went viral across the nation and broke newsroom Chartbeat records for having over 25k concurrent visitors at a time. To handle the load of unanticipated traffic, I quickly built a server side caching mechanism that took the load off of the geocoder and improved response times by 10x.
